A joint project of experts

Harvest New York, in collaboration with researchers from Cornell Cooperative Extension, Alabama A&M University, a research geneticist from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and other industry experts, has released a hemp growing guide.

“The best manual out there”

Daniela Vergara, an emerging cultures specialist at CCE and a member of the Harvest development team, called the guide the best on the market. She emphasized that the industry needs resources to grow and that this guide came out of a wonderful collaboration. Their goal was that anyone who wants to start growing tomorrow can read this guide and find all the information they need to be successful.

What’s inside?

This interactive, colorful and illustrated guide provides production guidelines for selecting and growing hemp both outdoors and indoors. It also includes grain and fiber processing considerations and relevant legal and regulatory information for New York State. And the best part? Updates are planned, and a Spanish edition is expected in 2024.

The future of hemp in New York
