Cannabis-infused gummies are one of the most popular forms of edibles. They are discreet, tasty and easy to dose. Unlike smoking or vaping, they offer a long-lasting effect that is ideal for medicinal users or connoisseurs. But how do you make them properly?

Ingredients & preparation
Before you start, you need:
- 1/2 cup fruit juice (e.g. grape or orange)
- 2 tbsp gelatine (vegan alternative: agar-agar)
- 1/4 cup cannabis-infused coconut oil (instructions below)
- 1 tsp citric acid for freshness
- 2 tbsp honey or agave syrup to sweeten
- Gummy bear molds (silicone molds for best results)
Step 1 – Making cannabis oil
The basis of every good edible is cannabis-infused oil. This is how it works:
- Decarboxylation: Crush 3-5 g of cannabis and heat it in the oven at 110°C for 30-40 minutes.
- Infusion: Mix the activated cannabis with 1/4 cup of coconut oil and heat in a water bath (below 100°C) for 2-3 hours.
- Strain: Filter out the plant residues with a cheesecloth.
Step 2 – Prepare the gummy bear mixture
- Heat the fruit juice gently in a pan.
- Slowly add the gelatine, stirring until it dissolves.
- Add the cannabis oil, honey and citric acid. Important: Do not allow to boil, otherwise the THC will evaporate!
Step 3 – Filling & curing
Pour the mixture into the silicone molds and leave to set in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
Dosage & safety tips
- Start with 5-10 mg THC per gummy bear (depending on the potency of your oil).
- Wait at least 90 minutes before taking further doses – edibles have a delayed effect!
- Store the gummy bears in a cool place away from light to extend their shelf life.
Common errors & solutions
- Problem: Gummy bears become too hard.
Solution: Use less gelatine or add more liquid. - Problem: Inconsistent effect.
Solution: Distribute cannabis oil thoroughly in the mass before filling.
Creative variations
- Oxygen content: Add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice for sour bears.
